Where Should I Go?: Devotional Poem

Where Should I Go?

John 6:68

Where should I go?

When I seem lost,

Disoriented, confused,

Misaligned, uncertain.

Where should I go?

When I’m not wanted,

Rejected, left out,

Overlooked, misrepresented.

Where should I go?

When I’m struggling,

Failing, ruining,

Losing, squandered.

Where do I go?

When I’m dying,

Lifeless, numb,

Thoughtless, careless.

Where do I go?

I go to the Lord!

I run to him!

I fly to him!

Where does he meet me?

Right where I am!

For you see to run means to turn.

And when I turn I see him.

When I turn to him,

He is already there!

I take one step,

I say one prayer.

When he looks at me,

I feel a breath of fresh air,

I feel warmth again,

I feel like I am worthy again.

When he touches me,

I feel I’m living again,

I feel I’m hoping again,

I know I am existing again.

Where do I go?

I go to the Lord!

Why do I go to the Lord?

For he has the words of eternal life!

His words are spirit,

They are life.

And when I receive them,

I receive him, his Spirit and his life!
