What Is It About Me?
Psalms 8
What is it about me,
That you are thinking of me?
What is it about me,
That you would come and dwell in me?
What have I done,
To deserve such love?
What is it that you have done,
Having come done from above?
To live like me,
To walk like me,
To laugh like me,
To hurt like me.
But yet you are not like me!
You are what I would like to be!
You are made like me,
But yet so different from me.
You are pure and I am not.
You are complete, me I don’t know what?
You move with grace, I have an unsteady trot.
You words are true, my words are not.
I look up above from where you came,
I see that the sun, the moon, the stars, proclaim.
Your greatness and glory, power and might,
I observe my smallness in the darkness of night.
I see a comet, a meteor, and a fallen star.
I think of the complexity of creation and how wise you are.
I observe all of this and can’t help but feel,
That you are out there, you must be real.
But then I see your glory most of all,
When I look to Jesus and on him I call,
What is man that you think about me?
I rejoice because you that is out there, lives within me!
