God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
He does great things beyond our understanding.
He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ Job 37:5-6 (NIV)
Meteorology has been a consistent study of the weather since the 1800’s. The formal practice of predicting the weather has been going on almost as long. A few days to a week at most is along as they can predict the weather and get it right, The problem is, they still aren’t perfect. Getting it right more than a few days a week, can be a challenge. The reason is… God is in control.
Isaiah 45:6-7 (ESV) That people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all these things.
We go through a dry spell and we pray for rain and God sends it eventually. We end up in a wet spell, again we ask God to send some sunshine so things can dry out. We are never truly satisfied because God controls the sun and the rain. The Bible spells it out. When God Created the world, he put order in place. Hot, warm, cold, spring, summer, fall, and winter in order. A time for planting/sowing and a time for reaping/harvesting. He is not a God of chaos. He is a God of order.
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
He does great things beyond our understanding.
He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ Job 37:5-6 (NIV)
