Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Did you take time to read those last two words? “Without excuse.” Without excuse for what? We, are without excuse. There is no reason for us to NOT believe there is a God except that we be blinded by sin. We walk outside every day or at least look outside. What all do we see? Trees, flowers, birds of all kinds, clouds, rocks, weeds, other wildlife, wind blowing, pinecones, acorns, holly berries, acorns, maybe its sand and seashells or snowcapped mountains… you get my drift. Your environment will determine what you see but we are without excuse.
Maybe it’s the swells of the ocean lapping on the sand or glassy top of a pond or lake that mirrors the sky. We have no excuse. What makes the wind blow from east to west or north to south? What causes that same wind to build and build over the ocean into the crescendo of a storm or hurricane or turn into a roaring tornado over the wheat fields of the Midwest? What makes the waves so small and mesmerizing on the coast of the Carolinas, that we can wade out to our necks with little fear? But, on the Pacific coastline, waves can build to such a monstrous size, that surfers flock to the beach to catch those waves? How can a rosebud no bigger than the tip of your finger, grow into a bloom as big as your hand with petals perfectly formed in a layered fashion with a smell so aromatic that you never forget it? How does an acorn the size of a marble grow into a tree so large that lumber can be cut from it to build anything? How does a small feathered bird living in a farmyard know to lay a perfectly oval egg on a bed of straw every day? How do the bees and hummingbirds know exactly which flowers offer the best food to sustain themselves? How can the sky have so many different colors in a matter of minutes as the sun rises and sets over a horizon?
I could make this list of questions go on and on. We are without excuse. I can’t even begin to answer most of these questions because I don’t have to know how. All I need to know is “the Who” that makes it all happen. Genesis clearly tells us how it ALL came into being. I don’t need a potentially flawed science book to tell me the steps needed to make it all happen because the original Architect (God) put those steps in place from the beginning. We should enjoy the majesty of His handiwork and be amazed at how it all functions together WITH. OUT. FAIL! WE HAVE NO EXCUSE!
I challenge you today to take 5- 10 minutes to explore what you see outside. Even if you just sit by the window where its warm with a hot drink and watch the world go by, take time to see the amazing world right outside that needs no explanation. Do it once a month or do it every day. I have no excuse. You have no excuse. Some things don’t need an explanation. Many things need an exclamation! The “wow factor” is just waiting for you to see. We are without excuse when it comes to seeing the glory and majesty of God.

Excellent! I often wonder since creation is not currently at perfection and we deem it extremely beautiful, how can we even begin to imagine the new Heaven and new earth!
Only God!!
Thank you for this devotion, and the reminder of those last 2 words telling us to see his magnificent WORLD.
All we have to do enjoy it. Amen.
