Thankful for the USA

I truly believe that we were on the verge of losing this great country. We were one election away from losing our freedom. People here and around the world began to pray and prayer made all the difference. God heard our prayers. God answered our prayers. The Sovereign of this universe had mercy on us once again. I am beyond thankful. We now have an opportunity to once again become one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

I wrote this prayer in the form of a poem many years ago. It serves as a reminder that it was heard and answered. I pray that in the years to come, we do not become complacent. I pray that we continue to lift this great country up and pray for our leaders. Most importantly, I pray that we will find our way back to God. May He forever bless the United States of America.

A prayer for Our Country

We humbly pray for the U S of A,

It lost its way the other day.

The other day, as strange as that appears,

To God one day could be a thousand years.

Dear Father in Heaven, we’re divided and lost,

We have pushed you aside no matter the cost.

So, we ask for your blessings, your mercy, your grace,

It’s our grandchildren God, who’ll be stuck in this place.

We pray for them now, for we do love them so,

And it saddens us to think this is all they may know.

May your spirit rain down Lord, all over this land,

And unite us again with the touch of your hand.

May your people now realize the importance of prayer,

And know you are listening and know that you care.

May we stay on our knees and lift up our voice,

And understand clearly there’s no other choice.

We need an awakening, a revival it’s true,

But what we need more is a real glimpse of you.

As you touch the heart of each woman and man,

Oh God, please bless this great country again.

We praise you and thank you for what you will do,

Lord, our prayer is to find our way back to you.
