Thankful for Heaven

As we approach Thanksgiving, I will post things I am thankful for. May we all spend this week reflecting on the many things that God has provided.

To Moses, God gave the command. Did Moses not understand? He would not be permitted to go to the promised land. Certainly, he heard God say, “Speak to the rock,” not give it a knock with his stick! How often do I do the same thing? God gives me His plan, His commands,.. so easy to understand, and I do it my way…anyway! I am just like Moses and do not deserve the right to enter God’s kingdom in heaven. Many times I have not believed and have not honored Him as Holy. I have been disobedient. Just like Moses, I am no different. If God had not sent HIs only begotten Son to Calvary to die on that cross to bear my ugly sins, I would not be able to enter that promised land called heaven.

Dear God,

Thank You for loving me enough to see past my sinful ways, knowing that I will never get it right here on earth. Thank You for Jesus! He covered my sins with His shed blood. Because I believe in Him and have received Him into my heart as my Lord and Savior, I will one day enter that land called heaven. Moses worked so hard for so many years and then one act of disobedience cost him entry into the land You promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. BUT, the moment You blocked him, You took him into eternity to be with You forever… A temporary loss. You will do the same for me as a believer in Jesus Christ.

As I begin this week reflecting on the things I am most thankful for, Salvation is at the top of my list. Such a reason to have hope in these uncertain times. You tell us in Your Word, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him”. 1 Cor. 2:9I I look forward to seeing what You have prepared for me in that amazing place called heaven.

Love,

Kathy

I love that you wrote a letter. My thoughts are the same. I’m so unworthy but yet thankful I am saved, even though I fail in some way daily.
