Perception or Truth

John 18:33-38, 2 Timothy 3:13
Today our culture is driven by perception and not by truth. Perception can be a powerful thing, but it isn’t always the measure of reality. Just look at a magician and his magic tricks. It is not based on the truth of fixed laws, but through deception and cunning, appears to be one thing, when in reality it is another. The modern news media are the popular magicians of our day.
To listen to these deceivers is to only get what they want you to know or to distort the truth to promote their propaganda. They will pull the rabbit out of a hat and tell you that the hat came out of the rabbit. In other words they will tell one lie and have to use another lie to back up the previous one in order to give the perception that what they are saying is true. They will produce roses out of a cane, but the only way of knowing if what they are saying is true is that you have to smell the roses!
That’s exactly what we need to do today in our country: “Wake up and smell the roses.” This quote means to take time out of our busy lives and consider, think, and observe what is going on around us. As Paul was writing to Timothy about Perilous Times he said that “Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” In others words they will tell so many lies that they will begin to believe their own lies, having no concept of what is the truth anymore.
Sadly, there are many Christians who have bought into this perception and unless they have a change of heart and mind, will vote for a godless agenda, thinking that they are doing the will of God. God is a God of truth and in no way has changed what He has revealed unto us in the Bible and through His son Jesus Christ. To deviate from that is to swerve and make shipwreck of the faith and ultimately in times like these destroy the greatness of America in the process.
What the liberals are introducing is an utopia, not a reality. They use isolated events and through media and social media make it appear that we have a big problem with injustice and are wanting to change the whole foundation of what America is. The truth is that there are some injustices and Jesus said that there will be. But to judge a whole nation and its future on a few injustices is nothing but liberals using the power of deceit to promote and hopefully accomplish their agenda.
So what is truth? Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes unto the father but by me.“ (John 14:6) He also said that “They who are on the side of truth listen to me.“ It is important who we listen to today in our chaotic society. Are we going to listen to the media moguls of the day or are we going to listen to Christ and the Gospel?
He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying unto the Churches!

Absolute truth spoken here!
Well said! I remember my grandaddy telling me to smell the rose to see if it’s real, and you will know the truth. He helped me more than l ever realized. He was a Maples, but most important he was a man of God! Thanks be to God!
Thanks, brother Rob! Truth has no agenda! I give thanks to our God for the light you shine!
