Only God!

We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (CEB)

This devotion really is a testimony. I wanted to share with you how God worked things together for good a few Saturdays ago. Only God……

Several weeks ago Kathy Crouch and I signed up to attend an event at the library in Southern Pines to meet other authors and have our books for sale. We decided that we would share table space, each of us decorating our end of the table as we wanted. I borrowed a tent in case we found ourselves positioned in the direct sun or if there was rain on the day of the event. We both began watching the weather about 10 days prior to the date – rain was forecast on that Saturday. As we tracked it, the percentages for rain grew until the point we both said maybe it’s best to not plan on going as neither of us welcomed the idea of struggling against the weather. Although we were disappointed, that was our final answer on the Wednesday night just before our event on Saturday.

On Thursday morning I received a text from Kathy that was a screen shot of the Southern Pines weather forecast….no rain! Friday’s forecast was even better … no clouds, no rain! Sun was what we were seeing on the weather app we each were watching! That could only have been changed by the finger of God! Our plans changed, we loaded up, prayed over the day, and headed over to Southern Pines on Saturday morning.

Once we checked in at the library, we were directed to our table location. We had chosen an outdoor table as opposed to being inside the building. Our table was in a prime location! The library has a nice brick overhang, and we were positioned there, right by the front entrance and next to another devotional writer! Where we were could not have been more perfect! Again, all arrangements were directed by the moving of God’s finger.

Immediately upon our arrival at the table we became friendly with the girls at the next table. As is so often the case when you find you have Jesus in common, we talked and talked! We each shared how we came to write our respective books and what we each had currently under way.

Kathy and I talked all day about how God worked all this out to enable us to take part in this event. We know that it was meant for us to be there. Between both of us we may have sold a half dozen books, but it’s not how many books were sold; however it’s the ONE book that reaches that one that needs to hear what God has to say.

We had a great day! We were in the perfect spot, met some great new friends and the weather was beautiful!

All things worked together for good!
