Just Look Up!

Just when you didn’t think things could get any crazier, there they go! I don’t know about y’all but the last 6 months have been so topsy-turvy, not just here but all over the world. All of the bickering and name-calling between political candidates, media just making up whatever they think we want to hear, strange weather patterns with flooding and tsunamis and earthquakes and volcanos everywhere, all the fighting and killing over a small strip of land, and good grief- the constant flow of drugs and all of the chaos that comes with it, is about to put this old girl over the edge. No, not literally, but it is a lot to take in. I just have to look up!
The rules have been thrown out. Who cares what so-and-so did? It used to be majority rules, now it’s the mob rules. If you have ever worked in a school then you get to see the mob ruling on many occasions. It can be quite terrifying when you see quiet, calm, little people turn into someone you’ve never seen before. I just had to look up!
We must NEVER forget who is in charge. The Bible clearly tells us that Satan, an angel thrown down from Heaven, is the Prince of the power and the air. We, even as believers of Christ can be influenced and or swayed by Satan’s influence. We just have to look up!
As citizens of this country, we have a responsibility to uphold the foundations with which our country was built. It is getting harder and harder to see that foundation as it is crumbling before our eyes. We must continually look up!
Look up to the Father in Heaven for guidance and mercy. Look up to ask for forgiveness when we fall so very short of His expectations. Look up to Heaven for God’s redeeming salvation. Look up to ask for his blessings on this nation. Look up to see his glory manifested in a spectacular sunrise or magical sunset. Look up to see a glorious night scape with the moon or the northern lights. Just look up! If you are looking up for all things then we won’t miss Christ’s return. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Isaiah 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.
Just look up and praise his Holy name.

Well done Sara! I am reminded of Luke 21:26-28. Great devotion!
Thank you for reminding me to keep my focus Heavenward.
