Lyrics and music by the Ball Brothers
Back before Christmas, I wrote a devotion during the season of Advent, and I referenced the song in the title. It’s often considered a Christmas song but I disagree. It’s can be an "anytime song" but I really think it’s an Easter song. As the Easter holiday quickly approaches, I couldn’t help but go back to this song time and time again. It is Biblical truth written out so beautifully that I cry almost every time I sing, listen to, or read the lyrics. The Easter story written in the Gospels is both magnificent and horrific at the same time. There is an actual display of faith, love, mercy, and hope In the cruxifixction.
Jesus knew what was coming. He had faith that his Father would strengthen him and provide him with what was needed to endure the pain and suffering. He knew his Father’s love would be on full display in 3 days. Jesus showed mercy to the ones who hung on the crosses next to him, as did his Father. And, the ultimate message that we carry with us till this day is one of hope; Hope that things will be better, hope that good wins over evil, hope that we will be forgiven of all our sins when we acknowledge our sins and repent, hope that one day we will be with our Father in heaven. Where there is hope, there is love. So as we Enter into the most Holy of days during Easter, read the accounts of Jesus’ death and resurrection in the Gospels, meditate on the significance of this event then and now. May God speak to your heart during this season. JESUS DIED FOR YOU AND ME!
Please read these verses first and then click the link at the bottom to enjoy the song in a video. Pardon the ads, it just comes with the territory. Full credit to The Ball Brothers for the words and music. It truly is all about the cross. Without Jesus' death nothing else would matter
It’s About the Cross
By the Ball Brothers
It's not just about the manger Where the baby lay It's not all about the angels Who sing for him that day
It's not all about the shepherds Or the bright and shining star It's not all about the wise men Who travelled from afar
It's about the cross It's about my sin It's about how Jesus came to be born once So that we could be born again
It's about the stone That was rolled away So that you and I could have real life someday It's about the cross
It's not all about the good things In this life I've done It's not all about the treasures Or the trophies that I've won
It's not about the righteousness That I've find within It's all about His precious blood That save me from my sin
It's about the cross It's about my sin It's about how Jesus came to be born once So that we could be born again
It's about the stone That was rolled away So that you and I could have real life someday It's about the cross
The beginning of the story Is wonderful and great But it's the ending that can save you And that's why we celebrate
It's about the cross It's about my sin It's about how Jesus came to be born once So that we could be born again
It's about God's love Nailed to a tree It's about how every drop of blood That flowed from Him when it should have been me
It's about the stone That was rolled away So that you and I could have real life someday So that you and I could have real life someday
It's about the cross (it's about the cross) (it's about the cross) It's about the cross It's about the cross

Awesome song, thanks for sharing it. You are correct, it’s all about the cross, Amen. Thank you Lord Jesus for making a way home for us on your cross.
