Romans 8:18-28
There has been a lot of talk over the last decade or so about the end of the world. Climate change seems to have become a major political issue during this time and it has created a lot of non-sensical policy making along the way. We as Christians have long known that the world as we know it will come to an end. But as far as the world coming to an end as they proclaim, I don’t believe it will happen that way.
Jesus at his second coming will usher in a new heavens and a new earth. It will basically be a purifying and a remodeling of the world as we know it. In fact he is going to put it back the way he intended from the beginning when he brought it into being. The world is like it is today because of sin that was introduced into it by Adam and Eve. Adam was given dominion over the earth to take care of it and to be honest man has not done a good job of it. A lot of what we see concerning the ozone and climate change we are responsible for, but although we have had a detrimental influence on it, we will not be able to destroy it completely. God won’t allow that to happen. Instead he will intervene in his own time and “make all things new.” Revelation 21:5
Until then all of creation will groan and travail. The earth, God’s children, and even the creator himself, God, will groan within us through the Holy Spirit, in pain together until the manifestation of the sons of God appear. As these things increase and grow worse, we as God’s children should respond by praying “Even so come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20 Peter said that we are to “Hasten the day of Christ…wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.” 2 Peter 3:12
Then what comes next? “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:1-4
Should we fear climate change? I think the better question is Do we fear God?

Such a great devotion! ❤️
Wow, excellent words Robby. This house and so many in family have had these discussions. Many have swallowed all of the climate change hullabaloo, hook line, and sinker. It is as you said, nothing more than a political machine used to keep the pot stirred. We are commanded to be good stewards of what God has given us and yes we have not always done that to the full extent. He also told us that what he put here he did so for our use. When we see that only 1% of the population is feeding the other 99%, we see clearly, how well that machine is working. He climate issues is a world-wide problem, but we only s…
The groaning of the Holy Spirit is leading us toward our heavenly home. Thank you Lord for your guidance in your ways. I am looking forward to seeing what you have prepared for us. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Selah, Amen. Thank you for sharing theses words.
Thankful my hope is in Christ! Thank you for this great reminder!
I believe in what the Bible tells us . Except what ever God sends my way. I don’t think l will see it , but then l might. I don’t think it’s far away, but it is well with my soul. THANKS BE TO GOD!
