Increase Our Faith

Luke 17:5. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

No doubt the apostles had faith in Jesus, so why did they ask this question? They had cares, concerns, worries, questions and all other thoughts. Things that weighed on their mind while being right there in the presence of Jesus. They just reassurance! They needed to be strengthened. And we do too! We live in a fallen world and things happen. Life can be stressful. And yet we have the presence of Christ with us in the person of the Holy Spirit within us. But we still need to ask the Lord to increase our faith daily, so that when things come up we will not be swayed or caught off guard. But will we be prepared ahead of time? Will we be on the offensive instead of the defensive? Much of it depends on our faith.

We do not have to live a defeated life. Some days we feel we are in constant battle mode. But we can face the challenges of the day by giving them to the Lord and move on In faith and trust!!! We just have to ask the Lord for help!

How very needful this message is today! I have been more and more convicted lately of the importance of our response to what is happening in our nation and the world as it relates to the Lord’s testimony. Instead of playing “armchair quarterback” with Fox and CNN and the rest, I think it is imperative that we start running interference against the enemy, himself, with our words and actions, just like you said, Vickie. May our words be our Lord's words. How easy it is to fall into “the conversation”. Of how much greater value to put on the whole armor of God. I’m preaching to myself here. If any of you reading this want to partake, help yourself!! (Smili…

You are absolutely correct. Us fallen people need constant assurances, lest we forget. It is so very humbling and breathtaking when we see our faith put on display.
