I Saw the Light(s), I Saw the Light(s)

I know just after reading the title you are humming this song in your head.  LOL.  But what a more perfect song for this past weekend.  I had been seeing the weather forecast saying there was a possibility that some of us in the lower part of the United States might get to see the Aurora Borealis, a.k.a. the Northern Lights, but I never dreamed it would be me. Hubby took me out to supper and on the way home I commented on the fact that the air/sky was purple.  Several storms had blown through so I just thought it was another storm.  When I got home, it hit me that I might be seeing the Northern Lights.  I walked outside about 11:00 and was just blown away. Pinks and purples streaked the sky.  When I looked straight up, I could actually see the lights dancing.  At that very moment I thought, “how can anybody see this and not know God.”  What a masterpiece of his work on display.  Tears just popped out of nowhere and ran down my face.  God created this display just for us to see and further understand His glory and majesty. Never in 60 years have I seen anything so spectacular.  Of course, I had seen pictures and videos of the Northern Lights on TV, in books and movies but never dreamed I would see them in person.  No firework show has ever come close to this kind of display.

Psalm 19:1 immediately came to mind as well as the song.  The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” What a perfect verse for the Northern Lights.

Thank you, Lord, for revealing your glory and handiwork in such a magnificent and fantastical way.  Amen

And for those who are still humming the tune, I Saw the Light (s), enjoy it in its entirety.

Here is Josh Turner’s version… https://youtu.be/26SnvIO_4es?si=91QljWhaAJirebCp
