I Can't Hear You, God

Deuteronomy 31:8

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you;

He will not leave you or forsake you.

Do not fear or be dismayed.”

I can’t see you, I can’t feel you,

I can’t hear you when I pray.

Oh, Jehovah God in heaven,

It didn’t use to be this way.

I am fearful, I am weary,

I am filled with doubt and shame.

I feel as though you’ve left me, God,

Do you even know my name?

My struggles keep me up at night;

More tears than I can bear.

My heart feels oh so empty,

Oh God, why aren’t you there?

The silence, Lord, it’s killing me,

It’s Louder than ever before.

Why oh why dear God above,

Can’t I hear you anymore?

Shh…Be still now,

Just breathe and close your eyes.

The evil one has distracted you,

And is deceiving you with lies.

He’s told you you’re not worthy,

He’s filled your heart with pride.

He keeps you second guessing,

So, from me you try to hide.

He’s made you doubt salvation,

And that’s as far as he can go;

So, hold on tight and focus,

There’re some things you need to know.

I never moved one step from you,

Was it you who walked away?

I saved you many years ago,

And you’re still saved today.

You’ll never lose salvation,

And Satan knows it’s true;

So, once he sees your faith grow strong,

He’s out to capture you.

But…Fear not for I am with you,

Be not dismayed for I love you so.

My righteous right hand will lead you,

Exactly where you’re to go.

Your faith is stronger than Satan’s lies,

And the cross he cannot stand.

Say, “Get ye behind me Satan,

I am secure in the Master’s hand.”

He will leave at that very moment,

And my spirit will refill your heart.

You will write the rest of your story,

And this is where it will start.

So, I give you the pen, write well my child,

I am waiting and there’s so much to do.

Believe me and know, the time is near;

I will do great things through you!

God
