No, the title is not misspelled. It is a Hebrew word and I first learned it from my Sunday School teacher. (pronounced Hess Ed) My Sunday School teacher and his wife attended a retreat at The Cove and came back with this word. If you look at the graphic, you can immediately see that the description of the word is very complex. It brings up emotions and feelings but also indicates the need for action as well.

In my research on “hesed”, I found that it is more of a concept and not just a verb or noun or adjective or adverb. Words like compassion, grace, love, mercy, and faithfulness all relate to the word. One writer said, "the word describes an essential part of God’s character." How joyful to find that this complex and dare I say, unique word, can only be used to describe part of God’s character. I encourage you to read what “Got Questions.org” has to say. Add this word to your knowledge bank and meditate on it. May we all strive to have and be more hesed. Thank you Jeff V. and Jill for your dedication.

Thank you very much for this especially uplifting post. It is one which I will meditate on and share with others. What a glorious contrast to what the world has to offer!
Thank you for sharing this information about Hesed, Amen
