Giving Thanks

Since this is the week of Thanksgiving, I am doing a little differently with my devotions. I know time is limited during this holiday time, so I thought I would do just something short each day.

“They were to be present every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and to do the same every evening.”  I Chronicles 23:30

“The LORD is my strength and my shield.  My heart trusts him.  I was helped, my heart rejoiced, and I thank him with my song.”  Psalm 28:7

God is worthy of our praise and is pleased when we come before Him with thanksgiving. –Shirley Dobson

Mrs. Charles E. Cowman, author of the devotional book, Streams in the Desert, wrote, “Two wings are necessary to lift our souls toward God:  prayer and praise.  Prayer asks.  Praise accepts the answer.”

Heavenly Father,

Your gifts are greater than I can imagine.  My prayer is to live each day with thanksgiving in my heart and praise on my lips.  Thank you for the gift of Your Son and the promise of eternal life.  Let me share the joyous news of Jesus Christ, and may my life be a testimony of His love and grace.

Amen
