Flowers,Friends, and Fridays

This week has been such a rollercoaster.  One of those weeks where you feel like your britches are on fire and it was just Monday.  Yes, one of those weeks with three Mondays.  LOL.  Let me just say that when God gives you opportunities, he doesn’t say it’s going to be easy.  I took on the task of helping a friend with the flowers for her daughter’s wedding.  Let me just say I love flowers of all kinds and turning them into beautiful arrangements is my dream job.  However, arranging flowers for a big event is not a one-woman-job.  This is where having a cadre of great friends comes in handy.  I am so blessed to have a group of the very best.  I put out a text to see if any were available to help and all said yes.  We laughed, we cried, we prayed, we ate snacks, we bumped into one another and kept right on going.  God has blessed me with the best.  After delayed flower delivery, crashed 18 wheelers (no injuries we could see), Canceled amazon orders, a much-needed rainy day, and looking for rainbows, Friday is finally in sight.

I couldn’t think of a better way to end the week, than by thinking about all of the moments where God showed up.  I feel like I have made some new friends for life in the wedding family.  They have been very tolerant of our presence, letting me run in and out like I live there.  Lord, I pray that you were seen by everyone.  So, as we end this week, I think back to the wedding in Cana of Galilee.  The Gospel of John 2:1-11 recounts the story of the miracle of Jesus where the wine ran out and He turned the water into wine. It’s not about the wine.  It’s about Jesus doing what his mother asked and preforming a miracle that only a handful of servants witnessed and His glory being revealed be revealed.

Lord, I ask that you continue to bless me with friends who will pray with and for me, who always pick up a phone when I need them, who rarely say no when asked to help do anything.  These kinds of friends are priceless gifts from God.  Gifts from God.  When you are given these gifts, you have to acknowledge and embrace them.  May your Friday be filled with flowers and friends. Work to keep them close and happy. Don’t forget to look for the rainbows. Thank you all for you kind words, readership, and support.
