Fake News

In this day and age the term “Fake News” has become a buzz phrase especially when the media starts talking about current events. It is used to squash the opinions that contradict the media’s narrative. “Fake News” is when the left side or the extremest want you to think that what you read, what you see, or what you hear, is NOT real. Lets just call it what it is: it’s a lie! Fake news makers are trying to convince you and me that what we see or hear is a LIE! They never call anyone an actual liar but they twist a person’s words to make it sound as if it is the truth. Have you ever stopped and thought about the fact that fake news started all the way back in the Garden of Eden? Didn’t that sly and cunning Satan, in the form of a serpent, use his words to convince Eve that what God had told Adam was a lie? Oh, he didn’t say that God had lied, he just said surely that was not what he meant. Genesis 3:1-5 tells us exactly what went down on that dreadful day. And the “Fake News” has run rampant ever since. Make no mistake. Satan is in the “Fake News” business. He lies!

We must remember that God gave us the tools to ferret out the fake from the truth. The first tool is, of course, His Word. Foremost, we must go to His Word for the truth. The next set of tools he gave to every one of us. We carry them with us everywhere we go; eyes to see and read, ears to hear and discern, hands to feel and do, a mouth to taste and know that it is good, and to speak the truth, a nose to smell, and to some he has given common sense and wisdom, the ability to think clearly. Each of our “tools”, also known as senses, are not always used independently, but in conjunction with one another. You’ve heard the saying, “If it swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it must be a duck”. Meaning if you’ve seen it and heard it and it matches what you already know, then you have used your tools to discern what it is.

As Christians, we cannot forsake the tools that God has given us, when discerning what is put before us. The old adage “if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth”, is used way more often than we realize. We cannot allow this to sway our thinking or our convictions. Test everything you hear or see against God’s word. Ask your selves the hard questions. Does it make sense? Where have I seen this? What does God’s word say? We, as Christians, get lambasted if we speak out against homosexuality, the actions of our political leaders, or anyone who goes against “political correctness”. It is nothing more than Satan using his same old tricks to convince us that he is right and we are wrong. Don’t be fooled. Our God is not a god of chaos. He is the God of order.

Anytime I am overwhelmed by the chaos of our world, I simply take a walk around my yard and SEE! There is order everywhere; order in the shape of flowers, order in the lifecycles, even order in the weather (the seasons & phases of the moon). Sometimes I can even smell something before I see it. I don’t know how anyone can look at anything in nature and ignore the order and lack of chaos. All photos are mine so enjoy as you like. And just for the record, God takes care of it all. I’m just the gardener. No Fake News here! Thank God for everything.
