Faithful and Unchanging

What a contrast in the weather we’ve had over the past couple of days! Just yesterday, we had a little snow after having had temperatures in the seventies for the past few weeks and today as I was leaving for work I eyed the beautifully blooming crabapple tree in my yard.
Our North Carolina weather can change day to day. In fact, most things in our lives are ever changing; God however, never changes! He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow; what a comforting thought. James 1:7 tells us so, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” He does not vary; he does not turn (change).
We read in Malachi 3:6, “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
To further explain this verse the following excerpt is from bibletools.org; God’s mind is absolutely undivided. In practical application, this means that His sovereignty can never be separated from His love; His grace cannot be separated from his omniscience; His judgment cannot be separated from either His mercy or His wrath. GOD is absolutely constant because His faithful providence cannot be separated from any other of His attributes. God is whole and complete. Under every circumstance, He is never confused or uncertain about what to do. He is always headed in the same direction, which is to complete His purpose. – John Ritenbaugh
In this world of change put your trust in an unchanging God. Know that He wants the best for you and that He knows what is best. Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. This truth is from 2 Timothy 2:13.
In closing think on these words from the hymn, Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise.
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish – but naught changeth Thee. – Walter C. Smith

God is good all the time and every day, spend time with him in prayer but also listen for him to tell you what needs doing, Amen
