Faith

Faith will be the subject for today. The scripture that always comes to mind when I think about faith is from Hebrews 11:1. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Got Questions.org helps explain this verse when it says, “Biblical faith takes present-day possession of things not yet seen with our eyes but hoped for in the future. What God has revealed in His Word becomes our inner reality today. Rather than looking at life with our earthly eyes, faith sees through the lens of God’s promises.” The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:7, “We walk by faith and not by sight.” I believe that faith is a gift we receive upon receiving God’s free gift of salvation. It is something we must practice daily and truly cherish in a world that is so lost and confused. May today’s quotes and poem speak to you and may our faith in God’s Word and promises grow stronger every day.

“Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.” Corrie Ten Boom

“Faith does not say, I see this is good for me; therefore, God must have sent it. Instead, faith declares, God sent it, therefore it must be good for me.” L. B. Cowman

Faithful Prayer

Have you prayed for a thing for months, maybe years?

Have you called out to God through the pain and the tears?

Did you ever stop and pray no more?

Did you abandon that thing you were praying for?

It is crucial, go back and cling to those prayers,

And know that God hears you and know that He cares.

Could it be when God’s silent and the answers don’t come,

He is checking to see where your faith comes from?

Is your faith that faith that only works through sight?

And because of that, keeps you up at night?

Is it faith that diminishes each time you pray,

Because God didn’t answer in a particular way?

Does your faith cry out may it be Your will,

And if not, dear God, I will trust You still?

Could it be God is working to answer your request

But because He is sovereign, He knows what’s best?

The faith God desires is the faith to believe

That whatever is perfect is what we’ll receive.

So, pray without ceasing, do not walk away.

Your answer will come, and it may come today.
