Everlasting Life

Psalms 23:6

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Only Jesus Christ can offer eternal life. He is the “ Good Shepherd who gives his life for the sheep.” John 10:11

The writer of Hebrews wrote “It appointed unto to man once to die…” Hebrews 9:27. Death is the greatest and most powerful enemy of mankind. But yet through his death, Christ conquered death, taking away its sting and victory. The sting of death is sin, and all of us have sinned, do sin, and will sin.

So what is our hope? Our hope is in the promise of God that if we acknowledge, confess, and turn from our sin, then “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Psalm 23:6 Jesus overcame death and if we take up our cross and follow him, he will lead us through death into everlasting life! Psalms 23:4
