Don’t Take Your Christianity for Granted

Last night I was honored and privileged to be a part of a celebration of someone’s work. Celebration of work? Sounds contradictory doesn’t it? When you love what you do and you do what God intends you to do, it’s not always considered work. When the final product is in in hand, you look down and think wow! How did this happen? When we work in God’s will, there WILL be celebrations however, those same ones have Satan licking at their heels seeking. So, we must remain vigilant and true to God. Pray over everything. Nothing is too small and nothing is too big for God.
Every day, I think about how Satan turns creation into chaos. He steals our joy, kills our enthusiasm, destroys our freedoms, messes with our minds. We allow Satan to rule because we fail to be good stewards of our time and be diligent followers of Jesus. When the Bible is not our guide book, we lose our Guide. When we fail to read His Word, we forget the message. When we fill our ears with noise, we can’t hear God speaking. We take our Christianity for granted. You can’t lose it because once saved, always saved. But you sure can neglect it, not tending to your faith and then you could find yourself heading down a path you don’t need to be on and not hearing what God has to say to you.
Last night was a night of smiles, friendly faces, laughter, fellowship, and a few tears. All by-products of more than a year’s long worth of work. Every one of us, setting up and getting ready for the celebration complained about Satan causing things to go awry. That’s what Satan does. He detests joy. He reviles celebration. He even abhors our laughter and clapping. But when you are in the will of God, Satan is pushed out. I don’t even think he can hear, because if he could hear, surely his soul would soften. Who can resist a good laugh! Satan lost. The Church won! God ruled! Where two or more have gathered together in GOD”s name, then there He is also. Tonight, God ruled!
Don’t get in a rut. Don’t get in a hurry. Take time to the celebrate with those who have finished the race, completed the product, published a book, ended a career. Be joyful for them. You are adding to their crown as well as your own. Tend and Nurture your salvation

I love this devotion! What a great lesson, thank you!
A beautiful written devotion, thank you. Now give a Satan a good kick by grabbing your Bible and give it a kiss, for our Lord’s perfect words to live by. Amen
