Depraved to Saved

Someone showed my mother a YouTube video of a little girl about 2-3 years old. She had gotten into her mother’s lipstick and had somewhat successfully applied it to her face. The lips were covered but she had taken in a little extra face space as well. The dad thoughtfully caught it all on video. Dad: “What are you doing?” The little girl: “Putting on my wipstick.” Dad: “Whose lipstick is it?” Little girl: “Mine.” Dad: “How did you get it?” Little girl: “I buyed it.” Dad: “Where did you buy it?” Little girl: “Homey Depot.” At this point, your laughing your head off because it is such a cute and priceless moment caught for all posterity. I can see this being played on the little girl’s wedding day. But, I immediately thought how depraved we are even when so young. This little girl, in all her sweetness and cuteness, already knows how to lie to cover up her mischievousness.
We are totally depraved when we enter this world. As an elementary teacher, I saw the same depravity play out time and time again in my 4K and 5K classes. But, God, knowing our inherent inclinations to sinfulness, provided us a way out. John 3:16 & 17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” What a glorious promise from our Lord. No matter how young or old, His word tells us that if we just believe then we can be saved. We can go from the darkness into the light; From depraved to saved. All we have to do is seek HIM who gave us ALL that we have and believe!
As parents and grandparents, we must lead by example, correct when needed, laugh along the way, and remember that we all entered this world equally depraved and sinful. Thank God I am saved.

I think the two best things God give us is his son and the right to choose what we want. If we choose hell it is not God that puts us there, it is our choosing . If that is what you choose, l don’t condemn you , but l pray for you. Just don’t blame someone else for your decision. You are what you are by your decisions. Thank you Lord!
Great devotion, this truth is very common. We all remember what we did as children, usually about this time God’s words get into your heart. It takes ALL of us to raise and teach the children of our church. Speak up when in a kind Voice when needed, Amen
Wow Sara! Great devotion! Powerful application!
