Creator, Sustainer, Provider

“Because all things were created by Him: both in the heavens and on the earth, the things that are visible and the things that are invisible.  Whether they are thrones or powers, or rulers or authorities, all things were created through Him and for Him. He existed before all things, and all things are held together by Him.” Colossians 1:16-17 (CEB)

“My God will meet your every need out of his riches in the glory that is found in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19 (CEB)

When I pray, I often express my worship of a God who is my creator, sustainer and provider of life.  In my mind, I knew this was true.  I have been taught this fact for many years now, but I wanted to find Scripture to go along with my thoughts.  As I found the two above, I said to myself, “well, yeah!”  If in case, you’re like me and need a reminder in black and white, here it is.

This great God, the one who created EVERYTHNG,  placed limits and boundaries and maintains each and every one, continues to hold the stars and moon in the night sky, the sun by day…the ONE who existed when the earth was void and without form – still holds everything together today.  He has not missed one day, not one minute in doing so. 

God the Father will also meet our needs out of His abundance in Christ.  What we needed most of all He provided in the person of Jesus, His only son.   We were provided a way to be reunited with the Father, Christ was the Way.  That was first and foremost our most pressing need.

Three things to remember, He created ALL things, He sustains ALL things, and He will provide for our EVERY need.  That leaves nothing out.

He is our EVERYTHING!
