Childlike Faith

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3
Childlike faith is a virtue, difficult to achieve once you’re grown.
A two-year-old child is totally dependent upon someone.
His heart is pure and nothing exists outside of his world.
His life is simple and he knows nothing of wealth.
His clothes need not match.
His needs are always met.
He never has to worry that one day they may not be.
Everyone tells the truth. Promises must be kept. He trusts completely.
Oh God in heaven,
The scripture is clear.
As we grow older, the world has a way of lessening our dependence on you. To Become like little children again seems impossible to many of us.
But you are a God of love.
You would never require a thing we could not achieve.
Like;
…obtaining what a two-year-old never has to learn.
…understanding, apart from you, we are powerless over the circumstances of our lives.
…seeing your Kingdom here on this earth through your glorious eyes, only possible by the
leading of your Spirit.
…reaching the level of humility needed to show how dependent we are upon you.
Open our eyes and humble us Lord.
Pour out your spirit and cover us with mercy and grace.
Teach us to trust you with everything.
Teach us how to have the faith of a child.
We need to learn again.
May we trust, love, and totally depend on you.
Take our hand.
Lead us as we take up our cross and follow you everywhere you go,
and then …on our final day,
May we be found skipping down that very narrow path,
to your Kingdom,
in heaven.
Amen

That was beautiful. I’m sending it to two friends!
This is an important message, Kathy. Thank you for the reminder. It made me think of our Lord’s message to the Laodicean church. How dangerous self-sufficiency is! May we be totally dependent on Him. Praying that you and Jeff will realize that peace that passes understanding.
Love this Kathy. A million, ok not a million, but many thoughts are buzzing around in my head after reading this. Well said.
