Hebrews 10:25
“Do not neglect to meet together, as it is the habit of some,
but encourage one another,
and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
Assembling Together
I think I’ll go to church today, I heard my mama say,
I’ll join the congregation, as they worship, sing, and pray.
I think I’ll just stay home today, I heard my daddy boast,
I never really met the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
My mama took me by the hand and out the door we went,
I did not understand exactly what my daddy meant.
The preacher told a story of a man from Galilee,
I asked my mom what does this story have to do with me?
My mom and I walked down the aisle, then down on bended knee,
I saw a tear roll down her cheek as she grabbed hold of me.
My son you may not understand, but time will be your guide,
When God decides you’re ready, you’ll learn why Jesus died.
Until that time we’ll come to church, we’ll listen, learn and grow,
That’s the only way to understand the things you need to know.
The people daddy didn’t know, are they at church today?
Oh yes, my son all three are here, they hear us when we pray.
My mama tucked me in tonight, we knelt beside my bed,
I listened very carefully and this is what she said.
I come before the throne of grace, I pray you’re hearing me,
God help my husband understand the blessed Trinity.
She prayed that prayer so many times, it carried so much weight,
When Sunday came my daddy said, “Come on let’s don’t be late!”
My mama took me by the hand, my daddy led the way,
We’ll join the congregation yes, we’ll worship, sing and pray.

Beautiful!
That is the way the Lord touches each of us. He seeks us out to give us his special gift of life eternal, Amen.
