A weed is a Flower

One of my favorite quotes is from George Washington Carver. He said, “A weed is a flower growing in the wrong place.” He is exactly right. If you are a farmer or gardener then you know that weeds can sometimes be aggravating and invasive. For example, morning glories are beautiful, trumpet shaped blooms that open in the morning and twirl to close up as the day heats up. They come in many colors and you can even buy seeds to grow them on a trellis in your garden. But, if you are a farmer, that same morning glory can become the bane of your existence. They can run and twist around your crops and literally choke them out. If they get into the cornfield they can actually keep the harvester from being able to cut the corn thus causing the farmer to lose money. On a trellis, in the garden, it’s a flower. In the field of corn or soybeans, it’s definitely a weed. Where have you planted yourself? Are you surrounding yourself with the kinds of things and people that will help you flourish? Are you a weed or a flower? Are you growing in the wrong place? What are you doing to grow yourself? Are you letting God tend you in His garden? Are you flourishing where you are planted? Matthew 13:23 says, “As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.” Luke 18:5 says, As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

Dear Lord,

Plant us where we are needed. Grow us in your ways and help us to flourish for your glory and bear fruit for your kingdom. Amen.

When u wake up and fill bad and everything is gloomy u are a weed. We have those days, but we can over come that if we have Gods love in our heart. U will see the flowers and not the weeds. I was surprised to see what life really looks like when l received CHRIST!
