A Love With No End

John 13:1; Jeremiah 31:3

How far does the love of God go? All the way unto the end! This is what John said of Jesus concerning His disciples on the night before He was to die for them and all the world. But unto the end of what? His passion!

The Lords passion is the sufferings He took upon Himself for our sins. Paul said that Jesus died for our sins, the just for the unjust, to bring us to God. From the time of His calling the disciples to follow Him unto the time He ascended, Jesus loved them through it all and in spite of it all. There were many successes and failures the disciples had and continued to have throughout the rest of their lives, but nothing never separated them from the love of God and that same love and promise extends unto us even to this very day.

Through Jesus’ passion He gives eternal life unto all that believe. It was out of His great love that He did it. So if we have eternal life from Him and through Him then that means there will never be an ending. What a thought! God’s love for us will extend throughout all of eternity. In Him there is no ending, but an ever present presence that will continually shed abroad His love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. It will truly be a love with no end!

O love of God, how rich and pure!

How measureless and strong!

It shall forevermore endure—

The saints’ and angels’ song.
